I had a second day teaching wool on wool applique – also known as ‘Penny Rugs’ at home last week. The results were just as good as the previous session as you will see below !
We had a bird themed day, with two owls and a pheasant created from some lovely soft wool fabrics, buttons, a bit of ric rac, and lots of blanket stitch !
At The Fabbadashery we had a Proddy Rug session. Everyone seemed to enjoy cutting up their old clothes into the proddy pieces which were then put into the hessian with a prodder or rag rugger tool. It is very satisfying to be able to create something beautiful and useful out of things that would otherwise have been thrown away.
Ella’s Union Jack rug is looking great !!
So now to the finished pieces from previous courses. I really appreciate it when people bring in items they started on other courses they have attended either at the shop or at home. It is great to see the completed rugs/bags/hangings/cushions etc !
Here are a few which have been completed this week.
Sue’s beautifully worked crazy patchwork heart and funky chicken !
Liz’s lovely dress, she drafted the pattern herself from a favourite garment she had. It’s fab ! And she had never done any dressmaking before !
Suzanne’s beautifully bright crazy patchwork cushion covers.
And finally ……..
Nicola’s completed fabric applique picture of her house.
All beautiful !!
