My little friend and Saturday assistant Ella is becoming quite a talented and accomplished embroiderer ! Although she doesn’t get chance to do much of her own work whilst she’s at the shop ( as she’s too busy helping others with their work), when she gets home she puts everything she’s learnt into practise.
This beautiful fish appeared after she’d spent last Saturday helping me run a Goldwork course. I’m going to have to watch out aren’t I ?
A group of ladies from East Yorkshire came to my house for a day course on ”Quilt as you Go’ this week. I’m looking forward to seeing the results when they put all the lovely little quilted panels together – there was talk of book covers, bags, jewellery rolls and many other ideas !
The Wednesday afternoon sessions at the shop allow people to work on their own projects and finish off pieces they started on workshops. Alison and Trisha have been hand-stitching this lovely doll …..
Meanwhile, I have been having a busy time away from textiles too ! We celebrated Mum’s 80th birthday last week, and had a lovely family get-together in Ilkley …
…plus, I had a fun day out with my son Tom and our friend Mark. We went to help feed all the animals at the school Tom works at, I couldn’t resist a cuddle with this gorgeous hen !
