The Crafty Owl Studio shop and courses are up and running again.  All sessions are run in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines.

New Courses !

Since I have had my Facebook page I have tended to post on there rather than the website, but I realise that not everyone is on FB. So, I will endeavour to post on here too, and am starting with a list of courses coming up at the studio.

All courses shown below are held at Croft Myl in Halifax. They run from 10-00 ’til 4-00, include all materials and tuition, plus morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. Email me to reserve your place,

Monday 3rd July or Sunday 16th July –  Drawing for Beginners – Flowers.

For those interested in learning, or improving their drawing skills. This day course will take you step-by-step through the basic techniques of drawing –  observation, mark-making, value and composition. You will have several sketches completed by the end of the day.

Saturday 8th July – Lino-print and Stitch.

Learn how to cut your own lino-block (choose one of our designs, or bring your own), then print it onto fabric – we have plenty for you to choose from. After lunch I will give you lots of ideas for embellishment of your printed fabric, or continue printing if you prefer !

Monday 24th July – Crazy Patchwork and Embellishment

I will teach you how to combine fabrics to piece a block, then how to embellish this with embroidery, braid, buttons and beads. I  can prepare your pieced block for you in advance if you prefer, giving you more time to embellish. Just let me know what colour you would like.

And the last one for this update …..

Saturday 29th July – Rag Rugging

Learn how to recycle your clothes and fabrics and make something beautiful ! I will teach you the Proddy Rugging technique, and will also show you Rug Hooking. You will learn the different techniques whilst starting to make your own rug, cushion cover, or decorate a hessian bag and make a matching brooch/corsage.

Let me know if you would like to book on any of these courses, thanks !
