The Goldwork Guild are holding an exhibition at two venues next month, The American Museum Bath and Berkeley Castle Gloucestershire. I was invited to put work in these exhibitions and have 12 pieces on display.
Here are my pieces before they were posted off to the exhibitions.
Another project I’ve been working on is my buttons !!
I tend to get a bit obsessed with whatever I’m doing, and this is no exception. I have been making lots of samples for the course coming up this weekend at The Fabbadashery – ‘Create Your Own Buttons and Badges’ …….
….not a very good photo, but you get the idea !
I am also working on samples for a course I am running on ‘Dorset Buttons’ in October, also becoming an obsession !
Back at The Fabbadashery this week we had two busy sessions. First was ‘Make your own Needlecase and Pincushion’. Some lovely results were achieved as you will see below, we ended up with a whole flock of sheep !
After lunch we moved on to ‘Crazy Patchwork’, another of my favourites. I love the combination of quite free fabric piecing plus lots of embellishment. As usual, we had some very talented people attending the course, just look at the results ……
Helen was stitching so fast the camera could barely catch the action …..
Ruth started a crazy quilt for her daughter, this is just the first block, but judging by this it will be a work of art ! …..
Ella alternated rows of floral and spotted fabrics …
I also managed a trip out this weekend. I went over to Skipton to the ‘Art in the Pen’ – about 120 artists (painting/sculpture/ceramic/textile etc.) displaying their work in the auction mart.
There was some very inspiring work on show, including work by a local artist – the extremely talented and very lovely Anne Brooke from Rastrick .
