Goldwork and Rug Hooking.

I have had some time to work on my own projects over the past couple of weeks.

I have so many projects which are either part completed, or just at the design stage, so it has been great to be able to work on some of these. Here are a couple of these projects……..

Goldwork scarab, hooked bag 003

This is a Goldwork Scarab I’ve made for my son. I am passionate about goldwork and ecclesiastical embroidery, and completed my C&G Goldwork with Tracy Franklin in Durham a couple of years ago. In the piece shown here I have used coloured purl which is a change for me as I usually just work in gold, but I do think that it looks effective on this scarab .

Another project I am working on is a bag which is made from strips of velvet fabric which I am rug hooking into hessian. I will put a photo on here when it is finished.

I am running rug hooking courses both from home and from The Fabbadashery in the near future. Get in touch if you are interested in learning this lovely technique.
