Dorset Buttons and Lots of Cushions !

I have spent the past couple of weeks under what feels like house arrest ! Firstly, my friend Janet and I had an order from a shop in Notting Hill to make 36 silk and linen cushions (including piping and concealed zips) in time for the Decorex Show in London.

We managed to get them done, just in time for me to start the samples for the Dorset Buttons course I’m running at The Fabbadashery in a couple of weeks. Once I started making them though it was another of those projects I got utterly carried away with !

I absolutely loved making these and could carry on doing them indefinitely I think ! I made some into earrings, some keyrings, brooches and just buttons.

I have managed to leave the house on a couple of occasions, with a big bag of rag rugs each time ! I spent an evening with a group of ladies in Cleckheaton at their ‘Yak and Yarn’ group , and spent last Saturday teaching about 40 Guide Leaders rag rugging in Elland.

We have several Christmas rag rugging sessions coming up at the shop, or get in touch if you would like to bring your own group here.
