So, we may be a few weeks away from Christmas at the moment, but for those of us who make our own presents and decorations preparation has to begin pretty early if we have any hope of being ready in time !
Janet arrived earlier this week with a bag full of fabric and a head full of ideas. By the time she left she had completed her Crazy Patchwork Christmas Stocking …..
…and three Crazy Patchwork Hearts ! …..
Our workshop at The Fabbadashery this week was ‘Crazy Christmas Decorations’. These were made by creating a new piece of fabric from snippets of glitzy fabrics and threads bonded to silk which was bonded to pelmet vilene. After cutting the shapes from this new fabric they were embellished with beads.
A group of lovely ladies who travel here regularly from Tadcaster came over to Elland on Sunday. They did a combination of rag rug wreaths, raggy wreaths and felt decorations – they always keep me on my toes !
Here is Julie’s very tasteful mistletoe wreath ….
Jo’s wonderfully festive rag rug wreath …
Jess and Christy managed to work two projects each ! …
Julie brought with her the completed ‘Quilt As You Go ‘ bag which she started on her last visit here, I love it ! ….
As I have mentioned before, it is lovely to see pieces of work which have been started at workshops and people have gone on to complete at home.
Carolyn called in to show me two pieces of Goldwork she has recently completed, both absolutely stunning !…
… and Emily emailed a picture of the fabulous cushion she started on the ‘Wool on Wool Applique’ course ….
