Life seems to have been going too fast for me to keep up with it over the past few weeks ! I am busy with several projects and on many fronts, it’s no wonder I have chronic cluster migraine is it ?
Talking of fronts, what do you think about these ?!!
My friend Janet has gone boob-crazy again, knitting another 16 woolly boobs for nurses teaching breast-feeding. They are rather lovely aren’t they though ?!
Last week was probably my favourite session ever at The Fabbadashery, I was teaching Goldwork to a room of very talented and very enthusiastic ladies.
All but one were completely new to Goldwork, so there were many new techniques to learn, along with the terminology and materials specific to this form of embroidery. However ……
…three hours later, there were 10 almost completed bees buzzing round the room…. beautiful !!
Sue later sent me a picture of her completed bee beautifully mounted on a box lid ….
Two ladies brought pieces of work with them which they had started on previous courses – really love it when people do this.
Here is Shirley’s ‘Quilt As You Go’ ….
…and the very talented Carolyn’s embroidery ….
So, back to this week, we had a full day course creating pieces of work inspired by the artist Angie Lewin. Using silk applique embellished with embroidery and beads we based the designs on her beautiful seed heads and flowers.
Everyone achieved fabulous results, as I’m sure you’ll agree when you look at the following photos – they are all works in progress at present of course – can’t wait to see the finished pieces !
Wow !! Totally amazing aren’t they ?!
Before we left, another bee flew in to see us ! This one had flown all the way from Carolyn’s house. I think we must be doing our bit to increase the bee population in Halifax !
