Last Saturday we had another lovely day at The Fabbadashery. The course was ‘Quilt As You Go’, and this particular group of ladies were determined to go go go !
Ella and I were kept busy all afternoon with this very enthusiastic group!
Several items were completed, including needlecases and sewing kits, and others worked on panels which are to be made into bags. I will post pictures of any completed items which are emailed to me. I love to see what people go on to make after they have attended courses !
I have actually had a bit of time to work on my own projects this week.
This is the early stages of a hanging I am doing based on the Pendle Witches ( I recently discovered I may be descended from one of them !).
I have also worked a bee in Goldwork, this is the subject for the Goldwork day at the shop. Goldwork is my favourite technique, it requires more patience than some of the other textile techniques, but the results can be stunning.
I have a half day course coming up at The Fabbadashery on Sat 5th July (phone 01422 647574 to book), and a full day course at home in Elland on Friday 20th June (phone 01422 253477 to book ).
The other challenge this week, set by my friend Jackie, was to make a ‘Tour de France’ jacket for her border terrier Sybil ! I have made her a reversible ‘King of the Mountain’/Yellow Jersey jacket. I will take a photo of her wearing it when I see her next week. Jackie said Sybil would probably like a matching hat too, not just sure where to start with that one !
