It doesn’t seem two minutes since we were celebrating the Summer Solstice, now it’s Autumn and I’m not sure Summer ever happened ! I have been making my own Summer flowers out of wool fabric for an event in the near future. Some are brooches/corsages and some are to go on hessian bags.
Over at the textile project for Halifax’s new library everyone has been very busy. Sue GB has made a lovely piece of work based on the Royal Mail stamp depicting cat’s eyes which were invented by Halifax man Percy Shaw ….
This is Sue’s very cute little ‘mini-me’ too …..

Liz made two little people too, I’m not sure whether I should have photographed them together though ! …..
Meanwhile, Jenny has been experimenting with painting fabric to use in the background …..
…. and Myra has been working on creating trees. Here she is using the embellisher machine ….
We had another lovely Goldwork and stumpwork day at home recently. The work this group are producing is amazing ! Jackie brought the completed piece she had started on her last visit ….

….. mmm, good enough to eat !!
Maxine started a Christmas tree in Goldwork based on my design ….
Triste, Angela, H and I had an afternoon making crazy patchwork bags last week. Triste wanted to incorporate her dogs so we printed their photo onto fabric which will go through the printer …
My friend H brought along some superbly executed ‘vintage pieced and embellished bookcovers’ …..
…. just delicious !! As were Angela’s applique cupcakes !
This weekend was busy as usual. On Saturday I attended the annual Guides County Day, this is a day for Guide leaders to try different activities. I was teaching them how to make rag rug flower brooches …..

Little Melissa had brought along an applique picture she wanted to show me as I was in The Fabbadashery when she was buying the fabric. She made the picture all by herself …..
Maxine and co. were back here this weekend on one of our ‘Print and Stitch’ days. As usual, there was lots of laughter and some amazing work ….
